The Xenaverse

For those reading my crack!fic "Justin and Gabrielle in a Bottle" and who have expressed an interest in the parallels between Xena/Gabrielle and Brian/Justin, I wanted to give you two links.

One is an article I wrote about the ending of the QAF series (513), in which I discuss both series - it has LOTS of photos:

I also have a tag for periodic posts I make related to "Brian and Justin in the Xenaverse," which is mostly times when I notice shared themes in the two series but is sometimes silly stuff, such as photos from the two series that are eerily similar. Eventually the bottle story will be tagged that way (when it's done).

Lastly, I am creating a filter for Xena fan fiction. If you're interested in reading it, comment here and I'll add you. I don't want to go shoving lesbian sex and warrior princesses and blonde sidekicks down the Brian/Justin people's throats, but sometimes a girl's gotta write what her muses want her to write. ;)

If you just want the B/J love, that will remain public, so no need to do anything.

Oh, and if, like me and

gmta_nz, you're into both couples/shows, please comment? I am thinking we should band together and, like, take over the world.

Like demon!Brian, I just want to rule the universe.

Add me to the list ...I liked the show and am sorry that it ended badly. (although I'd stopped watching by then.) I can deal with the sex, if the story line is good...and I know you'll deliver on that.

Well, not the bottle story, because that's just so deep and metaphorical that it works without reference to the source materials. ;)

But I suspect the fan fiction will mean more to you if you've seen the show... but it's your call, it's not like there will be a bazillion posts. Just let me know. :)

We all know perfectly well how this story really ends, and it's not with Brian alone. That's just where the TV shows stopped, because the writers didn't know what they were doing, or got distracted by other agendas and lost track of telling The Story. Or maybe forgot they were supposed to be storytellers and not armchair philosophers or two-bit psychologists. Or maybe they just forgot that these were characters in a drama.

And if the story belonged to them, some of that might matter. But none of it does. Because the story belongs to us.

Have I told you that last paragraph is brilliantly written? Because, that last paragraph is beautifully written.

You say everything I believe, that usually comes out as "DIE COWLIP DIE DIE DIE!!!!!"

But you're so much more eloquent.

Ok, I started imagining all those people in miniature--like 2 inches tall and with impossibly high voices--crawling into Brian and Justin while they slept...I suppose the warrior weapons would be smaller, too, like tiny metal toothpicks. Ouch. And what if B/J could hear the miniature people talking and doing things from inside them? Brian would definitely complain about the inescapable (and squeaky) lesbian sex noises.

I suspect I'm ridiculously sleep-deprived. Pardon the insanity.

So, why was I writing this comment? Oh yeah--I'd love to be on the filter. Sounds interesting. ;-)

I used to watch Xena when I actually watched TV (and not a PC screen)...and even tho I didn't watch it religiously, I do know most of the characters and story lines. :-)

It's also been a long time since I read femslash (the Buffy fandom had plenty of it...and not only regarding its actual lesbian character... *winks*), but I guess if you are writing it, I could give it a try... :-)

I still cannot believe I started reading "J&G in a bottle", but boy, am I glad I did. Love your writing style, it's amazing, so I'll read anything you write, even though it may take me a while to get to it.

Plus, and this is the last compliment I'll give you for a little while, otherwise you might think it totally unnatural: you have such a lovely personality - it jumps out of everything you say, so it's pretty nice to "be around you". You're lovely, that's all there is to it! ♥

beautiful people, in beautiful realtionships having beautiful sex while solving all the world's problems. I truly think this is the best option for world peace. We can have Xena kick all the bad guys' butts, Gabrielle to tell the story, Justin to give us art, and well Brian......our moral compass.
