Confessions of a professional fangirl

Dearest flist,

I know you are all very busy now watching new TV shows. I am not ignoring your posts about Dr. Who Meets Dexter at the Bionic Lost House of Heroes because I do not love you. It's just that I have no shows that I watch. There is really nothing I'm looking forward to watching. I have no idea what's on. I don't even know how to find the channels on my TV set, all I know how to do is use my DVD player and watch HGTV.

If I have to write about a TV show for my job, I have to download it and watch it all at once on my computer.

If you want me, I'll be over in the corner, making fire with two sticks.

Love,

Xie

but moonlight is about vampires and pushing daisies is about a guy who brings people back from the dead and dexter is the best show ever (that's currently on the air and doesn't have Brian or Justin) and he's a serial killer, and you know, an all around good guy and and and...

fuck it, you'll never watch them. How's that fire coming?

[identity profile] xie-xie-xie.livejournal.com 2007-09-26 02:45 am (UTC)(link)
I HAVE NEVER EVEN HEARD OF MOONLIGHT AND PUSHING DAISIES WTF!

My dinner is still not here. I'm fucking starving.

[identity profile] epicallytired.livejournal.com 2007-09-26 02:52 am (UTC)(link)
They are new shows on this box we call the TV... they start this week and next and you need to eat something you ordered over an hour ago.

i am currently watching "Beauty and the Geek"

i want to be so pretty i don't even have to know what an IQ is. sadly, i'm not, and I do.

[identity profile] not-yet-defined.livejournal.com 2007-09-26 03:49 am (UTC)(link)
rofl, i love your icon vamphile

[identity profile] epicallytired.livejournal.com 2007-09-26 03:50 am (UTC)(link)
and sadly i have no idea who made it, (i suck like that) and xie has no idea who any of those men are.
seriously.

[identity profile] xie-xie-xie.livejournal.com 2007-09-26 04:24 am (UTC)(link)
Was one of them David Boreanaz? I had to research him once, remember?

[identity profile] epicallytired.livejournal.com 2007-09-26 04:27 am (UTC)(link)
wow, yes... one of them was david boreanaz, and i remebered, i didn't think you would.

I'm exited about moonlight because I've missed having a vampire show and this looks like a remake of Forever Knight and I used to love that show.

and also ITA about Dexter the show is great and the books are addictive.

[identity profile] kittykat2305.livejournal.com 2007-09-26 02:32 am (UTC)(link)
Aww that's ok because you still love Brian and Justin. But umm Not loving Doctor Who/Torchwood I don't know if that is healthy I really think everyone should be obsessed with them. I mean Captain Jack is to pretty not to have everyone love him. And as for the stick comment I swear if I knew how to put pictures in comments I have the perfect little picture for that..it shows how stick people became extinct..but anyway, I need to run now because house, reaper, boston legal, svu, and bones are on...(maybe you are the sane one, I watch to much tv..)

[identity profile] kittykat2305.livejournal.com 2007-09-26 03:44 am (UTC)(link)
lol yeah very similar picture, mine is actually a comic, I love that it's cute.

[identity profile] epicallytired.livejournal.com 2007-09-26 03:51 am (UTC)(link)
can't watch dr. who... but torchwood is my new crack.

[identity profile] kittykat2305.livejournal.com 2007-09-26 03:57 am (UTC)(link)
I started with Torchwood, then I had to know about Captain Jack I had to know what happened to him, so I watched the episodes he was in on Doctor Who and kind of became addicted to the Doctor also. But yeah I am totally addicted to Torchwood. If you don't watch the Doctor you should at least watch the ones he is in, it was only 8 episodes, but if you don't watch them at least watch Utopia it is the one that explains the most about Jack, but Bad Wolf he is totally adorable in. Ok I will totally shut it about Jack now.

[identity profile] etharei.livejournal.com 2007-09-26 04:37 am (UTC)(link)
Don't watch 'Utopia' until you've seen the end of 'Torchwood', though.

But 'Bad Wolf' (S1 'Doctor Who') is a MUST. Come on, THERE IS NEKKID JACK ♥

[identity profile] kittykat2305.livejournal.com 2007-09-26 06:16 am (UTC)(link)
I don't really agree that you have to have finished Torchwood to watch Utopia, I mean yeah it takes place after Torchwood ends technically however there really aren't any spoilers that I can think would ruin Torchwood and it explains a lot. But if you want to go in order start with Empty Child then through end of S1 DW then Torchwood then Utopia and the next 2 DW.

I read somewhere that they were going to show Jacks bum in Bad Wolf but they decided to edit it out to keep it family friendly and that John Barrowman was offended because he thinks he has a nice bum (and yes he does)

[identity profile] etharei.livejournal.com 2007-09-26 04:42 am (UTC)(link)
I SECOND THE JACK LOVE ♥

[identity profile] qafaddiction.livejournal.com 2007-09-26 02:35 am (UTC)(link)
What about Lucy Lawless appearing on Burn Notice (with Sharon Gless)? Or did that already happen? I don't get the show here in Canada.

[identity profile] xie-xie-xie.livejournal.com 2007-09-26 02:41 am (UTC)(link)
The sad truth is, I didn't watch that either. I know what happened, I even have icons from it, but I didn't see it.

I am the world's worst fangirl.

Truthfully, I didn't even watch QAF while it was on, until Travis gave me the DVDs, and while I did watch Xena when it aired, that was a LOOOONG time ago. DVDs didn't even exist then, and watching TV on the internet was a fantasy.... there was no broadband.

[identity profile] epicallytired.livejournal.com 2007-09-26 03:52 am (UTC)(link)
you really should have watched burn notice, she was wearing little tiny white dresses and played a kind of cool character.

[identity profile] kittykat2305.livejournal.com 2007-09-26 06:18 am (UTC)(link)
I never really got into her show, but she looked hot on Burn Notice, I am sure you can find the episode on TVLinks, then you can see the episode. and she had a gun, can't go wrong hot chick with a gun...

[identity profile] wordsalone.livejournal.com 2007-09-26 02:38 am (UTC)(link)
Dr. Who Meets Dexter at the Bionic Lost House of Heroes

That show? Oh I LOVE that show.

It's probably better that you stay away from your television set. Remember what happened last time. ;-)

etching fanfic on a rock with a chisel

Although ironically, when bunny told me she writes her fic longhand and then types it up, I literally didn't even know what she meant.

[identity profile] passing-through.livejournal.com 2007-09-26 02:42 am (UTC)(link)
Is ...making fire with two sticks. code for writing the next chapter of Families? Because that's how I read it :D

[identity profile] xie-xie-xie.livejournal.com 2007-09-26 02:44 am (UTC)(link)
Amusingly, I was just working on that, and I was looking at my notes for one section and they say:

Brian continues to be a jerk.

ROFL...

[identity profile] xie-xie-xie.livejournal.com 2007-09-26 02:51 am (UTC)(link)
What will be MOST amusing to me is if anyone figures out when I post it, which section that is.

[identity profile] passing-through.livejournal.com 2007-09-26 02:57 am (UTC)(link)
If I anyone who reads the next chapter figures it out, will you write me them porn a nice fluffy stand alone?

[identity profile] passing-through.livejournal.com 2007-09-26 03:42 am (UTC)(link)
*does a happy dance*

While I'm waiting for the next chapter I'll practice my jerk finding skills on my husband. It shouldn't take long because I'll have plenty of opportunities on which to hone my skills :p

[identity profile] xie-xie-xie.livejournal.com 2007-09-26 03:42 am (UTC)(link)
Snort.

I HATE USING LJ BECAUSE NONE OF MY ICONS ARE HERE!

I HATE USING LJ BECAUSE NONE OF MY ICONS ARE HERE!

I share your pain :(

[identity profile] secretsolitaire.livejournal.com 2007-09-26 03:30 am (UTC)(link)
Heh. I'm with you. I don't even have cable. I might tune into Grey's Anatomy on Thursday, but it kinda sucked last season so I'm not even excited about that. I'll probably be reading fanfic while it's on in the background. :-D

[identity profile] xie-xie-xie.livejournal.com 2007-09-26 04:26 am (UTC)(link)
I've never watched Grey's Anatomy, but what I did was I used to read a medical students' blog in which all they did was come on each week and laugh and mock all the medical mistakes on it. I would never be able to watch that now, having read that blog.

The internets have ruined me. ;)

[identity profile] secretsolitaire.livejournal.com 2007-09-26 05:00 am (UTC)(link)
Oh man, I'm not surprised by that at all...I know less than nothing about medicine, but even I raise my eyebrows at some of the crap they spout on that show. I certainly don't watch it for medical realism. :-P

[identity profile] not-yet-defined.livejournal.com 2007-09-26 03:44 am (UTC)(link)
*joins you in the corner*

i'm not watching anything new either. we mostly only do tv on dvd here. i feel very out of the loop, but it doesn't bother me enough to actually check out any of those shows.

[identity profile] xie-xie-xie.livejournal.com 2007-09-26 04:25 am (UTC)(link)
Instead of rubbing two sticks, let's watch porn!

[identity profile] not-yet-defined.livejournal.com 2007-09-26 04:28 am (UTC)(link)
actually i'm 35 minutes into episode 401 :D

[identity profile] azureopal.livejournal.com 2007-09-26 03:44 am (UTC)(link)
Dexter = Awesomeness . . . seriously.

[identity profile] xie-xie-xie.livejournal.com 2007-09-26 04:25 am (UTC)(link)
You have NO IDEA how fragile I am, if you think I could watch a show in which people are killed.

[identity profile] azureopal.livejournal.com 2007-09-26 04:26 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, yeah . . . hm . . . maybe if you just watched youtube clips of Dexter when he's NOT killing people . . . he's oddly likable.

[identity profile] brianslave68.livejournal.com 2007-09-26 04:38 am (UTC)(link)
Wow, we're like two halves of a whole. I watch NOTHING on TV, absolutely nothing. QAF has spoiled me for every other show. Nothing compares and I have no desire to try them.

[identity profile] xie-xie-xie.livejournal.com 2007-09-26 05:52 am (UTC)(link)
I love you. That is all.

[identity profile] rebeccama.livejournal.com 2007-09-26 05:56 am (UTC)(link)
Dr. Who Meets Dexter at the Bionic Lost House of Heroes

Actually that sounds like something that Lost in Translation would spit out. That or an extreme crack parody. However, I stopped watching Lost a long time ago and have never seen any of the other shows so I can't comment beyond general silliness.

[identity profile] luceononuro.livejournal.com 2007-09-26 08:37 am (UTC)(link)
I do not have a close relationship with my T.V. and QAF was the last and only thing I watched - which makes me socially retarded by times but, I guess you knew that - Heh!

However, my daughter has started watching Gossip Girl, developed off the book series, which involves her doing much squeeing and talking to the t.v. and I turned my eyes to it ...and.... I am now waiting of for next week's episode.

I have no defense

:P

[identity profile] snowmore.livejournal.com 2007-09-27 01:04 am (UTC)(link)
Oh Luce, I'm with ya! I like the pretty boys and the beautiful New York scenery. Gets me every time.

A lot of standard cable lacks quality, creativity, humanity. Perhaps something new will catch my eye this season. :D

[identity profile] sevigny7.livejournal.com 2007-09-27 02:33 am (UTC)(link)
Until I was pressured to watch QAf, I didn't realize TV had gone beyond the one-foot-on-the-floor-when-in-bed era. Boy, was I astonished. It took me a week to get my chin off the floor.
