The Good Chinese Daughter, by Xie...
This one requires a little background.

I normally don't care for fan fiction with original characters who have their own storylines, and that includes minor canon characters who are developed and made into major characters.

And I was talking about that one day, and even wrote some cracky little thing about Ethan having an affair with Sam Auerbach and Lin Liu having an affair with Leda, and in all the laughing and snarking I found myself saying, "You know, I could write a story about Lin Liu."

That was a year or two ago, and in all that time, even though we know next to nothing about Lin Liu from canon and I should have run from writing about her at top speed, the bunny kept nibbling at me. And when the Chromatic Vision "Character of Color" challenge on InsaneJournal was announced, I thought: Now's the time.

Title: The Good Chinese Daughter
Author: Xie
Fandom/character: Queer as Folk-US/Lin Liu
Notes: This is set in post-513 New York, and it's about how Justin meets someone who looks slightly familiar in a coffeehouse near his studio one day. Written for the Chromatic Vision "Character of Color" challenge. Beta'd by [livejournal.com profile] testdog65
