How Do You....

How do you make a short entry and then click on it to read the extended entry? I write a lot, I'm thinking I shouldn't be doing that - does that mean my entire post is showing up on someone's friends page? Am I violating lj etiquette?

Well, yes, but I've also only just now started reading fan fic... her story "Framed" was the very first. Ever. Of any kind. I'm in a state of advanced shock.

Well, I'm not that far behind you. I only found fanfic last fall. And lemme just tell you, my icon idoes not lie. I used to read actual books. Like 4-6 books per week. Granted, these weren't "War and Peace" or anything, just your basic mystery or chick-lit, but still.... actual books! If I've read 15 books since finding fanfic, I'd be surprised. I can name seven books for sure. *iz pathetic* *worse, does not care....*

You set the bar high by beginning with Plum's fic (because there is definitely plenty of crap!fic, out there, too). I started with Ethan and Myrna. As someone said to me, I think it was Paddies, "I feel kind of envious that you're just starting out and have all this incredible fic in front of you!" I know what she means. Oh! You've also got to, *got to* read [livejournal.com profile] luceononuro's fics. So beautiful. You're welcome to cruise my Memories if you'd like. I've also got a several page long word.doc completely filled with LJ addresses and other fic site addresses that I found and wanted to make sure I didn't forget. I learned the hard way how difficult it can be to re-find a site when you got there by clicking on a link and then clicking on another link and then clicking on another link. By then, you've read 3 new stories and who the hell remembers where you started? lol And [livejournal.com profile] quinn222's epistolic fic. She's a master manipper (like Teary) and makes an update every day. Begin with "Memos," then "Correspondence," (might be my fave) then "Adventures," then "Interludes," and now we're in "Changes." In other words, if you can't tell: Go to work, feed & walk your dogs, and then plop in front of your computer for the next six months and read read read!!! ;-DDD

Oh, and no, it's not necessary to ask before friending. I do like to mention it when I friend someone though. And I like to know when someone friends me so I can be their friend, too. *is also a sap...*

OK, I bookmarked both of those. I have a folder in my bookmarks where I save anything that i want to go back to, but it's all a chaotic jumble. In my ha ha spare time I'll have to organize it or something. LOL, that'll happen.
