Xiefest II update!

Well, I'm so excited at the response to my query about interest in a fandom gathering at my new place in Michigan! It's looking like one of the following weekends:

Oct 14-16 or Oct 21-23

The nearest major airport is Detroit, about 45 minutes away. Bunny has offered her house (around 40 mins from here) for sleepover purposes, and I have a guest room and a large living room with a sofa bed. So if you need a place to stay, or even just a place to unroll a sleeping bag, we can fit you in! And I'm sure we can arrange some kind of airport pick-up for anyone who flies in and doesn't want to rent a car.

My thoughts exactly! I would love to meet some people from our fandom, cause here in my country it doesn't exist really. QaF wasn't even aired here. Well,have a great gathering and I hope that some day in the future I'll be able to stop by. :)

I just looked up flights....Delta Airlines has direct flights from Ottawa to Detroit! $500 return, which is not too bad.

I feel so isolated in my QAF love...I'm 6 yrs behind and noone around me really gets why I can't stop watching B and J talk, flirt, fuck, fight, kiss, and make up. So a gathering of QAF fans sounds like exactly my thing.

I just got into QaF actually. I've only watched the first season, but I'm in love with the show. I would probably be done with all five season by October though.

And PLEASE dont' buy into the whole fanon insanity about hating Season Five, PUHLEEZE... I mean, if you genuinely don't like it, I respect that, but come to it with an open mind? Fandom RUINED it for me and it took me a long time to see it clearly and not through a poisonous filter!

It's not my favorite season, but I really love it now!

I haven't finished reading your 513 debate but I wanted to say that I liked 513 the first time I watched it. Without having any contact with the fandom before. And when I got on the fandom and "read" all the negativity around it, I was pissed. There was so many agressivity that I began wondering if my IQ was so low that I couldn't understand what was happening on the screen.

Now I get that it's mostly a "I didn't like it"(that of course I respect and understand) enormously reinforced by gossip and bad vibe. But what still makes me roll my eyes is the "CowLip hates us". I may be extremly naive, but if you make B/J monogamous, and I don't like it, I don't go all "Xie hates me", I assume that's the story you want to tell and if it's not the story I want to read I just read other thing and problem solved.

GAH!! You're killing me! The first weekend is the weekend after Canadian Thanksgiving and I'm taking most of that week off anyway! But still, I just went to Hawaii and Disneyland, so finances are non-existant at the moment. Curses!

But the house is gorgeous!!! Is it a large piece of property? Looks pretty big.
