The tiny font in my comments section
A few people have complained that they have very very very tiny fonts when they are replying to posts in my journal. A number of people have told me they see everything fine, and I don't see a tiny font. I have everything set to 12 pt that I can set, and no idea what to do or how to fix it.

I did notice, when wandering around LJ looking for something else, a "viewing preferences" section, where I found a place to change the settings to view comments in your own style, whatever that might mean.

Maybe if you check that, it will override whatever it is that's making my font size appear so tiny? You find it here:

http://www.livejournal.com/manage/settings/?authas=yourljscreenname

Replace yourljscreenname with, you know, your LJ screenname.

If anyone has ANY idea what else I can change to fix this, I'd be very grateful.

Yeah, I've noticed that too, but then right now it looks fine. Go figure.

I think I had the same problem with another LJ and it was also this layout style. It might be an LJ bug. I know my layout has a couple but they affect my viewing pleasure and not others, I think.

i noticed it too but i use netscape so i just hit ctrl and the + key and everything gets bigger.

for you to fix it you go to modify journal, edit customizatins, and then choose a different and/or larger font for posts and replies.

mine is fucking huge on my own site because i'm old and keep my monitor on i high res setting...

which could be the difference 1024 x768 looks different than the um bigger numbers which equal smaller stuff..

there, was that muddy and unclear enough?

Oh yeah, you lost me but don't feel bad. I'm the worst when it comes to figuring out LJ settings - we just don't think on the same level. ;)

I'm not going to mess with it since Xie's is the only LJ it seems to do it on. With my luck, I won't be able to read anyone else's but her's after. o_O

The style of your page effects what happens in your comments box and how a variety of different things appear...

brightness
invisible user names in comments
invisible cursor in comment boxes, etc.

That's how I narrowed my LJ set up down, so I could read AND so others could as well.

If that wasn't clear let me know. LOL

As long as you forgive my typos...cuz I never remember to spell check or preview..I'm fine with the tiny font. :)

For me, the font changes randomly sometimes smaller other times larger.
I also just change my browser view to enlarge the all the font on the page.

BTW( this comment is showing larger- it's fine)

But it is wierd- I've only noticed this on your LJ. ;?

There are a number of LJs that are v.v. difficult for me to read because of the color choices and font choices of the LJ owner. Your LJ is pretty easy for me to read because you've got black type on a white background, which, since my eyes have really changed in the past year, I very much appreciate. If I comment directly from you LJ, it's the tiny, very faint gray type. If I respond from my flist page (as I am now), it's nice big 12 or so black font on a white background.
