Is there such a thing as Cagney and Lacey fan fiction? Something flamencanyc  said made me wonder. There was no Internet then and I'd never heard of "fandom" or "fanfic," but if there were and if I had, I think that really would have been my first fandom... and Christine Cagney was my first fannish obsession. I loved her, god, so much it hurt.

Yes, I wanted to save her, but please understand, I was v v young at the time.

And yes, yes, I do see the parallels between Christine/Mary Beth and Xena/Gabrielle and Brian/Justin. We can all agree I'm the most predictable fangirl who ever fangirled anyone in the history of fangirlishness, ever.
