flamencanyc said made me wonder. There was no Internet then and I'd never heard of "fandom" or "fanfic," but if there were and if I had, I think that really would have been my first fandom... and Christine Cagney was my first fannish obsession. I loved her, god, so much it hurt.
Yes, I wanted to save her, but please understand, I was v v young at the time.
And yes, yes, I do see the parallels between Christine/Mary Beth and Xena/Gabrielle and Brian/Justin. We can all agree I'm the most predictable fangirl who ever fangirled anyone in the history of fangirlishness, ever.

I've found myself doing a whole lot of that myself in the past year or so!! :) Ever since I found QAF vids on YouTube and then somehow gravitated over to LJ and fanfics ... nothing has been the same since! Thank God!! :)
