"I know. I attended the eight grade."
I'm crossposting this here as well as on IJ. It's short and sweet.

Someone emailed me, ripping me a new one for asking if people in our fandom had "attended the eighth grade" in some fandom meta I posted on my IJ. I was deliberately quoting Brian from episode 201, and it was a joke.

I kind of thought that was obvious. Apparently not.

Nothing is obvious to everyone.

Or maybe she didn't get past 7th grade.

[THAT'S NOT FUNNY.]

(heh.)

Besides, I think there's a not unsizable portion of the fandom that IS in 8th grade.

So.

I may need a small break. I've just written a massive amount of fic in the last week, and I think I have post partum depression or something. Post-fic letdown. I don't know.

Understandable.

Could be the time of year, too? The evenings are noticably cooler here, one feels fall in the night air. I always feel a bit of me die with the season. But then, it's probably different in CA? San Fran gets cool in the winter though, doens't it?

I think you'll get an uplift on posting and getting responses. Your fic is some of the few stories I follow now. I used to read everything. Those days are long gone.

Hope you feel better soon.

THanks for all your good reads.
I'm home with a busted foot, healing after surgery. You've given me lots to keep me happy. Happy Labor Day. Sarah

You're kidding. Someone actually took the time to be offended and then write and harrangue you about it? Fuck me. I think I missed the meta but I'm going to go find it now and read it and LAUGH!!!!!

I'm almost convinced that this is a compliment on teh Internets. You know you're someone when you start getting wanked.

But those are the same people who like the fics that play "pretty paper dolls" so realistically, are they going to get the reference, i mean, they'd have to WATCH the show.

What!? It's your journal, you can post whateverthefuck you want and if some people *don't get it* they should just move on.

Well, sue me. I was too busy for context, and so, yeah, right over my head. Usually I catch stuff, but it was a reference, not a quote, so...yeah.

K, going back to my hole now.

how inappropriate to "rip someone a new one" for something said in one's own journal.

fuck 'em if they can't take a joke, has always been my motto.

Is that where they drag race through your brain?
It has been my observation that the internets are a very surly place this summer. The only place I feel 'safe' anymore is Sheltie Nation and it's probably just a matter of time until the Lab people come over and point out that they are the most popular breed and it's THEIR nation.
It amazes me that people have the time and energy to flame someone over something like that. I hope you suggested that they make a donation to assist with education for the poor in other countries or made a donation to the local library, so that we all may be better educated.
Bleah.

Re: Is that where they drag race through your brain?
Educated in NYC I never learned anything in the
eighth grade - or anyplace else.
Everything I know I taught myself. I would advice others to do the same.

I learned how to type in high school. It's been very useful even if it is called "keyboarding" now.

Okay, so I totally wouldn't have gotten it, either, as I haven't watched a single episode in, like, a year.

But, that being said, I would have agreed with the whole eighth grade thing. Because it's so true that to not lend it any sort of credence is to be in total denial.
