Meet my whooping cough
A friend ... a veterinarian, who you would think would have more compassion for suffering but since I'm not a cute puppy apparently not... sent me a stuffed toy in the form of the bacteria that causes whooping cough.

No seriously she did. Really.

It's not bad enough that I sound like this, it also seems that I have a microscopic version of this running around and breeding inside my respiratory system.

I mean, did I need to know this? I did not.

And just a reminder to enter my Sexy and Seventeen Season One Justin Icon Challenge... prizes for icon makers AND for those who nominate icons!!!! You don't have to be the icon maker! Show the world your Justin love!

Okay, I promised everyone I'd go to bed tonight at 11 and it's ummm... substantially past that now. I suck.

For close to three weeks now.
It keeps me up at night and makes people stare at me during the day.

Let's hope it leaves us alone soon!

I have tried very hard to keep from asking this, but I just can't hold it in any longer.
Did your parents never get you DPT shots? The P standing for Pertussis. My children were not allowed to enter first grade without them.
I had Whooping Cough as a child and I would not recommend it for man nor beast. It really gives you an understanding of how precious air is to our bodies. You certainly have my sympathies experiencing this trauma as an adult.

I wasn't vaccinated because I had whooping cough as a child, but since bordetella pertussis is a bacteria and not a virus, the immunity isn't permanent. It's why we can get strep throat (a bacteria) over and over, but only get measles (a virus) once.

Whether I'd been vaccinated as a child, or had the disease (which I did), either way, by now I was no longer immune.

That is actually kind of awesome, imo =D Is it bad that I find it sorta cuddly? OK, going away now...

Maybe you can perform voodoo on it and keel all the nashty little buggers.

I'm very sorry that it hasn't gotten better yet :-( How long did it last when you were young? Perhaps that will give some indication on how long it'll hang around this time.

Xie, e' un Pavesino. Un tipico biscotto italiano: l'hai mai mangiato?

I'm sorry to hear you're still unwell. I hope you're taking care of yourself.

*sends lots of hot tea*

OMG! I think I ♥ your friend. That sounds like something I'd do... but I would have included a box of pins for Voodoo. *eg*

How long does this plague of yours last? :(

Actually, I think it's kinda cute.

It also looks like it could double as something to throw at the television when a certain politician is on that pisses you off, so you don't have to spend all that money replacing said television when you accidentally throw a brick at it.
