Happy Pride, everyone!
If anyone will be in San Francisco for Pride and would like to meet up, a few of us from QAF fandom are getting together at the Cafe Flore on Saturday. Let me know and I'll give you the details!
Also, I want to apologize for not getting the IJ QAF newsletter out on Friday as scheduled, nor even yesterday. I'm dealing with a sick mom and a sick dog, and I basically lost my entire Saturday to sleep deprivation and a long nap. It's also been brutally hot here in San Francisco -- in the 90s, which seriously, may not seem like a lot to folks in the East and Midwest, but NO ONE in San Francisco has air conditioning, not even businesses, because we normally just don't need it. So everyone was really suffering.
My mom, bless her heart, actually bought a little window AC unit for my bedroom -- not for me, but for my dogs, who hate the heat even more than I do. So my dogs have spent the last two days in that one room, glaring balefully at me because I'm all-powerful and obviously chose to tell the heavens to bake us.
The fog came in early this morning and it's around 62 outside, so I feel much better now, but I think I'll take it easy today and just do a short "newsletter lite" later today. Sorry 'bout that, but you know that RL can be a bitch!
Last, I do have the first chapter of "Directions" beta'd, proofed, and ready to post; it's just waiting for its banner. My darling banner goddess,
roc_abs, has been doing something new for this installment in my series, and it's taking a little bit longer than usual. But once I start posting, I promise, all six chapters of this story should move along pretty quickly.
So I'll end the way I started: HAPPY PRIDE!
