NEWS! NEWS! NEWS!
Hello!

I have a couple of weeks that are going to be very, very light, work-wise, and finally seem to have caught up on my sleep from my week out of town.

So of course, I had to find 3457897 things to do in the fandom because I'm obsessed mildly interested in it.

One of the things I did (with the blessing of the lovely [livejournal.com profile] faile02 so please don't worry that I am trampling on her Liberty Diner project) is start a weekly newsletter linking to fandom happenings on InsaneJournal. It is called [livejournal.com profile] queer_as_news (on IJ it's here:
queer_as_news) and the first issue is up now!

You can join the asylum if you wish, but it's also fine just to watch it -- anyone can post, so you don't need to join unless you want to.

You can also add it to your LiveJournal friends page by clicking here.

I also seem to have created a Queer as Folk website. [livejournal.com profile] roc_abs designed it, I wrote it, and it's here. Please pimp it and rec it and link to it, because that will make it more "findable" by search engines. I really want it out there to help newcomers find fandom... I love new fans. If you have any ideas where it can be linked or promoted, please let me know. And since google crawls LiveJournal and InsaneJournal, it would be wonderful if you put links to it on your LJs and IJs if you want to. I absolutely promise not to troll around seeing who linked to it or not... what you put on your journals is such a personal thing!

I'm now going to reply to the questions I've had about the new "Challege in Two Parts" I am running at [livejournal.com profile] qaf_challenges , and thank everyone who has signed up.

Let me just say that one of the most frequently asked questions was, "Can I make a banner or graphic that's a doodle, drawing, manip, cracky, funny, or a comic?" The answer is YES! I very much welcome any style or feeling of graphic, and am very happy to have manips, doodles, etc. Just remember the "no MPREG, no Brian/Michael, no RPS" rules and it's all good!

So please, artists... sign up. The writers are counting on you. And writers... sign up, too! You can sign up right until the due date, so even though the deadline is technically today, late signups are welcome.

And you can all stop demanding fic... like I said, I have a very light two weeks ahead of me so I plan on lots and lots of writing and I will also be annoying you endlessly with meta posts and the things I do when I'm not drowning with work. ;)

Love,

Xie
