OK, so, last night my love of the fandom was so huge that I went to bed smiling, thinking about the web of beautiful Brian/Justin love stretching across the globe.

This morning I woke up and saw someone somewhere posting something about Mpreg.

I realize that ranting about Mpreg is totally boring and that there isn't even anything funny to say about it, because not only did COWLIP mock it (Michael and Ben shower scene), but jane2005 wrote the ultimate Mpreg fic, Mpreg: A Satire, and there really is nothing left to say.

And yet I must speak.

I'm a lesbian who is obsessed with Brian and Justin. I write schmoopy porn about them. I'm actually writing a story in which Brian and Justin meet Xena and Gabrielle and Justin is COMPLETLEY NAKED all the time, and constantly faints and cries. And still I feel that I'm smart, and noble, and mentally balanced, because all I have to do is consider the very existence of people who read and write Mpreg to know that I'm just a garden variety wholesome perv and not actually, you know, GENUINELY INSANE.

Has anyone ever written about this phenomenon? Are there articles or LJ posts or anything really trying to understand what the FUCK Mpreg is all about? Because seriously, short of the type of porn that involves harm, I think this is the sickest thing I've ever heard of. I mean, really sick. Like, these people shouldn't be allowed to operate heavy machinery sick.

I'd toss in a lot of "IMOs" and "not that there's anything wrong with thats," but it would be a total lie, so I won't.  I don't think this is just my opinion and I do think there's something wrong with it. Can someone, anyone, throw me a fucking rope and help me understand? Or is this just like war and pestilence and voting for George W. Bush, the incomprehensible face of evil?
