Fast Timeline Question

What approximate month was it when Babylon exploded, and when it re-opened?

I was thinking .... Babylon bombing  was spring-ish (because I assumed the election was in June, and because there was no snow and while people wore jackets, they weren't wearing heavy coats, although they WERE slightly earlier in the season), and thus Babylon re-opening was late summerish.

I want 8 months or so between the bombing of Babylon and Christmas. I just want to know if there is any reason that would have to be wrong.

And please don't make me watch S5 again to find out. :(

That sounds good. It was still cold, because to could see puffs of breath from the characters. No snow, though, so maybe March. But, then again, when Mel and Linds take off for Canada, there's snow on the ground. I usually try to guage by what coat Brian's wearing. He had on his short leather that night, but the next night, the night of the vigil, he was wearing his heavier brown one, with the fur collar, and Justin was wearing a parka. Oh, and when he and Justin went to the house, there was snow again. Remember, this is western Pennsylvania, and the snow can last til April. The cold, as well. I grew up back east, in DC, and it usually didn't start to warm up til late April/early May most times.

So, let's go with February.

Dude. "Plans" is rapidly becoming, like, my BIBLE of "what happened after 5.13". At this point, I would believe you if you said that the bombing happened during a hurricane. In Tahiti. In the year 2047. Write whatever you want! Haha. (Friended you, by the way. Hope that you don't mind!)

You're asking about cowlip's wacky timeline? I'm really not sure that there's a way to tell....although at the bombing, everyone's wearing heavy jackets or wrapped in blankets after....I say just make it whenever you need it to be.

um...elections are in november...aren't they... like ALL elections... did i miss something?

so i'm thinking um...

i suck at season five timeline but i always figured elections november and end of season five in feb/march... because there was still snow and it was cold and blah blah blah.

so i think justin went to NY in early march and then you can go (almost) anywhere from there.

but again, with cowlip...you can't fucking tell

and with western PA...snow in april isn't unheard of and melanie was pregnant for like a year...

so make it whenever the fuck you want and it will work but the election thing... arent' they all in november?

Brian was on his way to Gay Mardis Gras in Australia. Mardi Gras was February 8, 2005. Of course, I have no idea if gay Australia celebrates it at the same time & some of the celebrations go on for a few weeks. Ted told Brian what the estimate was to re-open Bablyon. I think it was 6-8 weeks. Construction jobs usually run over schedule, so I think you are safe assuming Bablyon opened April-ish.

Sydney Mardis Gras was actually March 5th 2005. I'm sure it was the Sydney one that Brian was going to!

I think you're about right... I'd say the bombing was about mid-March. So that would be about 9-months from the bombing until Christmas, so 8 months is completely fine. =) As far as when it reopened, I think you can write that however you want. (Hell, you write it ALL however you want!)

Can't wait!

I think the timeline you are playing with works. On QAF it virtually always seems to be winter judging by the weather.

As long as its sounds reasonable go with it. For a show that said Ted's birthday was in August and then had him celebrating it at a ski resort in the winter, I think your reasoning would be much better.

Maybe this can help. Some (spoilery) caps of 512, among which is a cap of the invitation to their wedding. Apparently it was supposed to take place on April 16th. The RSVP is by April 1st, so ep512 takes place before that.

And another thing...

I just checked the calendar and mg parade & party was March 4th - Saturday night. But heaps of American's (and everyone else) come over for a couple of weeks before the party to "do the festival" and make sure they go home with a Sydney tan. Most guys make sure they do the two main parties - Harbour Party (which is usually two weeks beofre MG party) and the MG party so to exactitude on the date, as I said before it was anytime Feb leading up to 4 March - assuming it was 2006 in C/L land.
