Gabrielle arched her back, trying to press harder against Xena’s mouth, who pulled away just enough to keep the pressure light. Too light.

She twisted her hands in the long dark hair spreading over her thighs, and heard herself moaning. Her heels dug into the blankets under them, and she pulled and pulled at Xena’s hair, but the gentle stroking continued, the soft touch of tongue and fingers and lips, nothing staying where she wanted it, nothing hard or deep enough.

Gabrielle felt the pressure of Xena’s fingers wrapped around the back of her thigh, the movement of Xena’s other hand between her legs, the pressure of Xena’s mouth moving against her cunt. She made a strangled noise and pushed into her mouth again, but just like she had every time, Xena softened, retreated. It had started out as a game, but now Gabrielle moaned Xena’s name and pulled again on her hair. She pressed her heels into the blankets and almost sobbed.

Xena’s mouth hovered inches above her wet skin. “Just let me, Gabrielle.” So Gabrielle tried to relax, to go back to the floating feeling she’d had at first, to let Xena’s mouth and hands take her over. Even just for a minute.

Gabrielle took a long breath. Xena pressed her tongue into her, sweeping it upwards, hard, and swirling it over the swollen flesh above her opening. The girl didn’t thrust upwards, and let her thighs fall open just a little. Xena slid her finger deep inside, where everything was tight and wet, shimmering with pressure.

Gabrielle let her hands release Xena’s hair. She brought them up and over her head. She closed her eyes and exhaled, letting her legs fall all the way open.

Xena drove her interlaced fingers into Gabrielle’s cunt, and let her tongue flatten and firm on her skin. Gabrielle’s heels dug into the blankets again, then lifted up, winding around Xena’s shoulders. Xena’s tongue slipped and slid all over her, fingers, mouth, everything wet, smooth, hot, just hard enough, just fast enough, just enough… and Gabrielle lay there, limp, trying to breathe, riding it until it rose up around her, inside her, like water overflowing.

And this time when she arched and cried out, Xena didn’t stop, didn’t move her mouth away, or her fingers. This time she let Gabrielle’s legs tighten around her shoulders, her heels beat against her back.

Gabrielle’s arms were crossed over her face. She was breathing hard, and Xena crawled up her body, her hair trailing through the sweat on Gabrielle’s skin. She licked at the muscles on her stomach, dipped her tongue into her navel, nuzzled her breasts and the pulse in her throat, and then kissed her mouth.

A long while later, Gabrielle felt her heart slow down. The sweat on her skin had dried in the warm breeze. She lifted her hand and felt Xena’s hair under her fingers, sleek and smooth.

Xena smiled at her in the dim light from the fire. “It’s not a bad thing to let go sometimes, Gabrielle.”

Gabrielle kept moving her hand through Xena’s hair, and touched her cheek lightly with a fingertip. Xena cupped her face and kissed her, and Gabrielle smiled softly. “Do you ever do that, Xena? Do you ever let go like that?”

She was sorry the minute she said it. Xena’s body got tense, and then she got up, all in one fluid motion.

Gabrielle leaned up on her elbow and watched Xena disappear into the darkness on the other side of the fire.
